Resources available throughout the 3 Campus Libraries
Books: The 3 campus libraries' Main
Stacks collection contains over 100,000 books covering
a wide range of academic subjects. Find out what is available
in the LAMP Catalog.
Reference Sources:
The Reference Collection contains encyclopedias,
almanacs, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, indexes,
statistical sources and more. Since these books are "consulted" rather
than "read," they do not circulate.

Journals: Journals are scholarly publications written
for a specialized audience; for instance JAMA, the Journal of the American
Medical Association, is written for the medical profession.
Magazines: Popular magazines are written to
inform or entertain the general public; People, Time, Sports
Illustrated, Glamour and Ebony are examples.
Newspapers: The 3 campus libraries subscribes
to local, regional, national and international newspapers.
Electronic Resources
available through LAMP
Online Catalog: The RCCD online
catalog contains records for all the library materials
owned by 3 RCCD campus libraries.
Electronic Resources: Both general and subject-specialized
indexes may be searched to locate information about a
topic in journals, magazines, newspapers, and other databases
through the LAMP system.
World Wide Web: LAMP provides access
to the World Wide Web - View
Internet Resources.
Media Resources
available in the LLRC
Videorecordings: Videorecordings covering
a wide range of subjects are available for viewing in
the library. Videos are "Library Use Only" and
are not available for check out by students or community
borrowers. Faculty may check out videos for 7 days for
instructional use.
Audio Recordings: Audio recordings are
available in cassette and CD format. Audio cassettes
of foreign language class material can be duplicated
for students who wish to listen to the material outside
of the Language Lab. Due to copyright restrictions, only
2 audio cassettes can be duplicated per day. Blank audio
cassettes must be supplied by students (material cannot
be duplicated in CD format). Faculty may check out audio
CDs for 7 days for instructional use. Audio recordings
that accompany books in the Main Stacks collection are
subject to the same loan period as the books to which
they are attached.
Computer Software: Computer software
is available in CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and floppy disk format.
Software that does not require installation onto a
hard drive is available for use in the library. Software
is "Library Use Only" and is not available
for check out by students or community borrowers. Faculty
may check out software for 7 days for instructional
use. Software that accompanies books in the Main Stacks
collection is subject to the same loan period as the
books to which they are attached.
Microfilm: Older issues of newspapers,
journals and magazines are a few of the items kept in
this space saving format.
Microfilm is available for use in the library, and cannot
be checked out.
Computer Resources

Adaptive Technology Workstations: All
3 campus libraries have workstations with Adaptive Technology
Software to accommodate our patrons with special needs.
Internet Workstations: Workstations
are available at all 3 campus libraries which provide
access to the Internet. Students, faculty and staff of
RCCD have first priority for their use. Click

Word Processing Workstations: Workstations
are available at Riverside campus library for word processing.
Students, faculty and staff of RCCD have first priority
for their use. If you want to be able to use one of these
workstations for up to an hour, you need to check one
out at the Circulation Desk.
CD-ROM Workstations: Workstations are
available at the Riverside campus library for viewing/listening
to CDs, CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs. Students, faculty and staff
of RCCD have first priority for their use. If you want
to be able to use one of these workstations for up to
an hour, you need to check one out at the Circulation
Desk.
Foreign Language Workstations: Workstations
are available at the Riverside campus library which provide
access to Language
Lab media. Students, faculty and staff of RCCD have
first priority for their use. If you want to be able
to use one of these workstations for up to one hour,
you need to check one out at the Circulation Desk.
